Letter from Maureen

It all began when I was living in London and I had just returned from a 9-month trip to Europe, New Zealand, Australia, and Southeast Asia. During that trip, I was looking for a “sign from the Universe” as to what to do “when I grow up.” Well, I didn’t get hit by a lightning bolt with the answer during my travels, but I did have a lot of fun! I had moved out of my flat in Chiswick before I left for my trip so I needed a new place to live and found a place to rent in Maida Vale (which is nowhere near the Siebel office where I worked…how I came upon the listing I have no idea…but the Universe apparently knew what it was doing.) So there I was meeting my future housemate, Claire, who came out of her bedroom in a beautiful printed kimono-like robe (I learned later that it’s called a Yukata) and, in her very Aussie accent,  said, “How ya goin’?” I told her that I loved her robe and asked her where she got it. She told me that her sister stole it from a hotel in Bali 🤭 So there I stood…Australia (I was just there!)…Bali (I was just there!)…chic-yet-comfortable robe (BAM…lightning bolt!)
